HISTORY:
The work of Rolling Hills Baptist Church began on April 14, 1964. The mission began with people interested in a new Southern Bapitst Work from the New Marshfield, Shade and Albany areas.  First Baptist Church of Athens, Ohio sponsored the mission.

Rolling Hills Baptist Chapel was part of the “Thirty Thousand Movement” of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Services were held in homes and yards of various members.  In September 1964 the first prayer meeting was held at the Athens Livestock Sales Company near Albany. In May 1965, the mission purchased a parcel of land located on US Route 50 and Radford Road in Athens County.

On August 21, 1968, Constitution Servie was held with 38 members.  Construction of the first unit was begun on May 15, 1970.  The first services were held in the new building on September 6, 1970 with dedication on October 18 of that year.  With the need for additional Sunday School rooms and fellowship hall, construction was begun.  This wing was completed and dedicated in 1980.  Homecoming and Mortgage buring celebration was held on September 21, 2003 with three of the charter members present.

Two missions have been sponsored by Rolling Hills Baptist Church.  They were as follows:  Glouster Southern Baptist Mission from 1979-1997 and The Bread of Life Baptist Chapel in The Plains from 1990-1992.

Throughout the years, this congregation has been actively involved in several community ministries.  Some of these are lap quits and tote bags for Meals on Wheels; Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry; Crisis Pregnancy Center; John Clem Recovery House; Church Food Pantry.  During the past 12 years, the congregation has provided 1,415 tote bags for Meals on Wheels. Rolling Hills Baptist Church ministers in many opportunities within the Athens and Albany area.
